Fish & Chips

There is something extremely satisfying about tucking into a meal of fresh fish and chips.

The fish we use depends on availability, but we always use sustainable fish, such as haddock, cod or pollock caught from local fishing boats that land here in Crosshaven.

The fish is coated in a light beer batter, and served with chunky hand-cut real chips, peas and lashings of tartar sauce.

A summers day

Our terraced area ouside the pub is perfect for enjoying lunch or a few beers and gathering with friends. During the summer months, there is plenty of outdoor seating and we often have music, BBQ’s and other events happening out here.

Mad Fish Dining Room

A view into our Mad Fish dining room, which is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights throughout the year. This intimate room, which can seat 30 diners, is located at the back of the bar.

The same room is utilized for all sorts of functions and events, and can be hired as a private room for your party, event or meeting.

We also host our art exhibitions here and screen monthly movies during the winter months in association with Crosshaven Film Club.

The snug

Snugs in Ireland were traditionally the area of the bar where the women would sit separate to the gents at the counter!. These areas were also closed off to the rest of the bar. We have since opened up this area, but have kept the traditional name.

It’s private location makes it perfect for small groups of friends gathering for lunch or a few causal drinks. During the winter months, every second Wednesday from 7pm, the ladies of Crosshaven gather in the snug for a Knitting skills exchange evening.  All are welcome to the “Knit & Knatter” sessions.

The boxing room

This area of the bar is completely dedicated to the sport of boxing, Sean’s biggest hobby. When you visit be sure to check out the boxing gloves cabinet, which has signed gloves from lots of famous boxers from Corks own Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan to Robin Reed.
