Join us 8pm, Wednesday May 23rd for the opening night of Crosshaven based artist Clodagh Monks first solo exhibition entitled “Tidal Thoughts”. Expect to see expressive interpretations of Crosshaven, Drake’s Pool, The Owenabue River and other coastal land and seascapes.
Clodagh graduated from Limerick School of Art & Design having completed a diploma in Printmaking and then began a career as an accountant and financial advisor. Painting in her spare time, she has recently been under the guidance of local artist Kerry Collins who has mentored her to fulfill this exhibition.
Clodagh describes her work as subjective emotive responses to her surroundings. They are evolved from her love of all things coastal and her surroundings that have been etched continuously as she was born, raised and then returned to Crosshaven to raise her own family.
“Each piece is taken from a snapshot of my surroundings that I have viewed a million times over and fallen in love with, for their distinctive shapes and colours” says the artist.
The exhibition opens on Wednesday 23 May at 8pm in Cronin’s Pub, Crosshaven and runs until 22 July 2018. This traditional seaside pub is acclaimed for its seafood offerings and also included in the 2018 Michelin Guide for Dining out in Pubs.
