Delighted that we were able to host the fourth #MunsterFoodieTweetup a gathering for all food lovers, restauranteurs, chefs, producers and bloggers in the area, which took place on June 24th 2012.
The afternoon began with a boat trip from Cork city to Crosshaven onboard Cork Harbour Cruises. Guests were treated to the delicious local craft Stonewell cider from the Nohoval Brewing Company and musicians ‘Natural Gas’ with guest singer Pat Fitz provided lots of entertainment onboard. After docking at the Hugh Coveney pier, we made our way to Cronins, where Denis, Caroline and Megan had the BBQ fired up. Scallops were first on the menu, served with wok-fried cabbage, claimed by Kevin Ahern of Sage Restaurant Midleton to be his favourite. This was followed by our Mad Fish stew, a tomato based stew with oodles of local fish including cod, hake, salmon monkfish, prawns and mussels.
The cameras, videos and audio bloggers were out in force and the internet was swamped with tweets under the hashtage #MunsterFoodieTweetup. To get a flavour, here is some of the highlights we collected from the day. Thanks to all those who tweeted.
